A Komodo phinisi with paddle board and canoe: treks, snorkels and gear by boat

Updated 20 October 2026

Lamborajo 2 is the Komodo phinisi with both paddle boards and a canoe on its list; Lamborajo 3 prints paddle boards only, and Lamborajo 1 neither. A private 3D2N on Lamborajo 2 costs IDR 88,000,000 (≈ USD 5,399) for up to 12 guests, and a seat IDR 5,200,000 (≈ USD 319). The route holds three treks and four snorkel stops.

Treks and snorkels on the 3D2N route

The private route puts a Kelor trek and a Manjarite snorkel on day 1, with Kalong at sunset. Day 2 holds the Padar trek, Pink Beach, the Komodo trek, Taka Makassar and Manta Point. Day 3 is a short morning stop and a return around midday.

Effort is uneven. Kelor is a short, steep hill of 15 to 30 minutes. Padar is a climb of 25 to 45 minutes on a loose path. The Komodo trek is led by a ranger, and most itineraries take the shorter trails. None of the three is a long hike, but Padar tests legs that have not climbed in a while.

Manta Point has a strong current and suits confident swimmers; Taka Makassar and Pink Beach are easier. Manta sightings are not guaranteed, and the order of stops flexes with weather and park quota.

Paddle board and canoe on an active 3D2N

An active group builds the 3D2N around water time. On the private route, day 1 pairs the Kelor climb with the Manjarite snorkel; day 2 strings the Padar climb, Pink Beach, the Komodo walk, Taka Makassar and the Manta Point drift. Paddle boards and the canoe go into the water at anchor, where the captain judges the sea calm enough, and Pink Beach is the stop the cards print for it.

For a longer program, the private 4D3N spreads the same stops over four days: Manta Point, Taka Makassar and Komodo on day 2, Padar, Pink Beach and Kalong on day 3, Kelor and Manjarite on day 4. More hours at anchor means more turns on a board.

Price example for 8 active friends on Lamborajo 2, whole boat: IDR 11,000,000 (≈ USD 675) each for 3D2N, or IDR 13,000,000 (≈ USD 798) each for 4D3N. On Lamborajo 3, with paddle boards and no canoe, the 3D2N comes to IDR 15,120,000 (≈ USD 928) each. The guide is quoted separately on a private charter.

Water gear against boat: canoe, paddle boards, snorkeling equipment

Same row, three answers. Snorkeling equipment appears on all three lists. Paddle boards appear on Lamborajo 2 and 3. A canoe appears only on Lamborajo 2.

For a guest who wants to paddle, Lamborajo 2 is the boat with the longest list: a canoe, paddle boards and snorkeling equipment, together with a jacuzzi and a bar on deck. Lamborajo 3 lists paddle boards and snorkeling equipment, and no canoe is printed.

The cards print the stop as Pink Beach (Long Beach), where reef lies close to shore. Where a board goes into the water on the day is the captain's choice, and a guest who wants to paddle should say so on the first morning. Sea state and tide decide the rest.

Lamborajo 1 has the least water gear printed

Lamborajo 1 lists snorkeling equipment and nothing else for the water: no canoe, no paddle boards. We write that as not listed rather than as absent, because a brochure can be incomplete.

The rest of its list is a sun deck, lazy chairs, bean bags, a dining room, a karaoke set and Bluetooth sound. The boat holds up to 24 guests in 6 cabins.

If paddle boards or a canoe decide the trip, move up to Lamborajo 2. The step is IDR 45,000,000 for the boat at 12 guests, or IDR 3,750,000 more per guest, and it also adds a private bathroom to every cabin. At 16 guests the whole boat costs IDR 2,810,000 (≈ USD 172) each on Lamborajo 1 against IDR 6,060,000 (≈ USD 372) on Lamborajo 2, 3D2N, so the gear is not free.

Pace of the days

The private route is front-loaded. Day 2 packs five named stops into one day, and day 1 is the gentler half. The open trip runs a different order: Manta Point, Taka Makassar and Padar on day 1, Pink Beach, Komodo and Kalong on day 2, Kelor on day 3.

Park quota and weather change the order, and the captain decides on the day, which is why we print the stops as a set and never as a timetable.

Choosing a boat does not change this pace, and no boat adds a stop to the set. All three print the same cruising speed of 7 to 10 knots. Open trips leave on Monday and Friday on all three boats, so the calendar below applies whichever you pick.

FAQ

Which Komodo phinisi has a paddle board and a canoe?

Lamborajo 2 lists both. Lamborajo 3 lists paddle boards and no canoe, and Lamborajo 1 lists neither.

What swimming level does the route need?

Most stops need none beyond comfort in shallow water. Manta Point has a strong current and suits confident swimmers.

Is snorkeling equipment provided?

Yes: snorkeling equipment appears on every list. None itemizes fins or sizes, so confirm what you need in writing before you pay.

Where are the paddle boards used?

The cards print the stop as Pink Beach (Long Beach), where reef lies close to shore. The captain decides where a board goes into the water on the day.

How hard are the treks?

Kelor takes 15 to 30 minutes on a short, steep path. Padar takes 25 to 45 minutes to the main viewpoint. The Komodo trek is led by a ranger and is rated easy. Sturdy shoes matter on Padar and Kelor.
