Lamborajo phinisi fleet
72 questions on the three Lamborajo boats, in 12 groups
Updated 20 October 2026
72 answers in 12 groups: choosing a boat, cabins, whole-boat cost, open-trip seats, payments, life on board, route, park tickets and groups, then one group for each boat. Figures come from the 2026 price list, updated 4 May 2026. PT Komodo Explorer Indonesia books all three boats.
How the 12 groups are ordered
The first six groups follow the order of a booking: choosing a boat, cabins and bathrooms, the cost of a whole boat, open-trip seats and dates, payments, and life on board. Route and arrival, park tickets, and groups and children come next. The last three groups take one boat each, for readers who already know which hull they want.
Where an answer depends on something the brochures do not print, it says confirmed in writing. That applies to the windows of the lower-deck Superior cabins on Lamborajo 2, the pickup point, the open-trip meeting details for Lamborajo 3 and the price of an extra bed.
Where each answer's figures come from
Prices come from the 2026 price list, updated 4 May 2026, which prints one price per band and duration and no season column. Per-person figures divide a whole-boat price by the head count and round to the nearest IDR 10,000.
Cabin and deck facts come from each boat's brochure and nothing else. The deposit, the cancellation scale and the park fees follow our booking terms and the park's current tariff, and they update across the site when either changes. The owner's own booking terms do not apply to a booking made here.
A question we have not answered
Send it with the three details that shape any answer: the boat you lean toward, or not sure; the dates; and the guest count, with private or open trip. The reply names a boat, gives the price in the right unit and flags anything still to be confirmed in writing.
Cabins, beds and bathrooms
Does every cabin have a private bathroom?
On Lamborajo 2 and 3, yes, in all 8 cabins. On Lamborajo 1 only the 2 Master Ocean cabins have one; 2 shared bathrooms serve the three Share Cabins and the Full Ocean. A couple who needs its own bathroom should look at Lamborajo 2 or 3, or at a Master Ocean on Lamborajo 1.
How many guests fit on Lamborajo 3?
Up to 22 guests, across 8 cabins.
How many guests fit on Lamborajo 1 and Lamborajo 2?
Lamborajo 1 takes up to 24 guests in 6 cabins, and Lamborajo 2 up to 25 in 8.
Which cabins have a jacuzzi or a private balcony?
The four Master Ocean and Royal Master Ocean cabins on Lamborajo 3 have both, the two Master Ocean View cabins on Lamborajo 2 have a balcony only, and Lamborajo 1 lists neither.
Can children share a cabin with their parents, and are extra beds available?
Yes. Cabins that take 3 or 4 guests, such as the Family Ocean View on Lamborajo 2, give children the extra beds. Extra beds are available in selected cabins on request, and the price is confirmed in writing. Children under 3 travel free.
Do the lower-deck Superior cabins on Lamborajo 2 have a window?
Whether the lower-deck Superior cabins have a window is confirmed in writing; tell us if it matters.
Choosing between the three boats
Which Lamborajo should I choose?
Three answers decide it: the guest count, whether every cabin needs a private bathroom, and the budget per person. Cost first, up to 24 guests: Lamborajo 1. A bathroom in every cabin, up to 25 guests: Lamborajo 2. Jacuzzi cabins, up to 22 guests: Lamborajo 3. The choosing guide works through twelve situations.
What is the difference between Lamborajo 1 and Lamborajo 2?
Lamborajo 1 is the Superior class, with 6 cabins, 2 private bathrooms and 2 shared bathrooms for the other 4 cabins. Lamborajo 2 is Luxury: 8 cabins, each with a private bathroom and hot water, plus a bar, a TV, a jacuzzi on deck, a canoe and paddle boards. For 12 guests on a private 3D2N it costs IDR 88,000,000 (≈ USD 5,399) against IDR 43,000,000 (≈ USD 2,638), about double.
What does Lamborajo 3 add over Lamborajo 2?
A jacuzzi and a private balcony in 4 of its 8 cabins, and a 38 m hull. In return it takes 22 guests, three fewer, and its list prints no canoe and no TV. On a private 3D2N the gap is IDR 33,000,000 in every band.
Do the three boats leave on the same days?
Yes. Open trips leave on Mondays and Fridays on all three boats, and the next departure is Friday, 6 November 2026. With the calendar identical, the choice comes down to cabin and budget. Private charter dates are agreed in writing with the boat you pick.
Which Lamborajo suits a family?
Lamborajo 2, whose Family Ocean View has a queen bed, 2 extra beds and a private bathroom, at IDR 7,200,000 (≈ USD 442) per person for the first two guests. The Master Ocean on Lamborajo 1 and the Royal Master Ocean on Lamborajo 3 also take four.
Is this the official Lamborajo website?
No. PT Komodo Explorer Indonesia, NIB 1805260128363, publishes this site as a booking partner for the three boats. The boats belong to their owner, who runs them and has its own website. We sell the trip and are responsible for the booking, under our terms rather than the owner's.
Groups, companies and children
Can a company charter a whole phinisi in Labuan Bajo?
Yes. A private charter prices the whole boat, starting at IDR 43,000,000 (≈ USD 2,638) for up to 12 guests on Lamborajo 1 for 3D2N, and PT Komodo Explorer Indonesia, NIB 1805260128363, issues the invoice.
What is the best boat for 20 guests?
Lamborajo 2, at IDR 5,350,000 (≈ USD 328) each, with a private bathroom in all 8 cabins, a bar, a TV and a karaoke set. Lamborajo 1 costs IDR 2,400,000 (≈ USD 147) each, with shared bathrooms in four of six cabins, for a group where budget comes first. Lamborajo 3 costs IDR 7,000,000 (≈ USD 429) each, adds jacuzzi cabins for senior guests and is full at 22.
What if our group is more than 25?
Two boats on the same dates, each on its own quote; the splitting guide prices 30 to 44 guests, and the second boat's availability is confirmed in writing.
Do children pay, and from what age?
Children aged 0 to 2 travel free; from age 3, the full fare applies.
Can a group split into different cabin types?
Yes. A private charter prices the whole boat, so who takes which cabin is up to the group. On the open trip each cabin type has its own price, from IDR 3,000,000 (≈ USD 184) to IDR 10,950,000 (≈ USD 672) per person.
What is the cheapest way to fill a boat?
Lamborajo 1. At 16 guests it costs IDR 2,810,000 (≈ USD 172) each, below the IDR 3,000,000 (≈ USD 184) Share Cabin seat, and at 24 guests IDR 2,330,000 (≈ USD 143). On a charter the guide and documentation are extra.
Lamborajo 1
How many cabins and guests does Lamborajo 1 have?
6 cabins and up to 24 guests, on a 26 m hull.
Which Lamborajo 1 cabins have a private bathroom?
Only Master Ocean 1 and 2 on the upper deck; the three Share Cabins and the Full Ocean on the main deck share 2 bathrooms.
How much is a Share Cabin bed?
IDR 3,000,000 (≈ USD 184) per person on the 3D2N open trip, sold by the bed from 1 guest, in a cabin with 4 single bunks and a shared bathroom.
What does a private charter of Lamborajo 1 cost for 12 and 20 guests?
IDR 43,000,000 (≈ USD 2,638) for up to 12 guests and IDR 48,000,000 (≈ USD 2,945) for 17 to 20 guests, 3D2N, whole boat. Per person that is IDR 3,580,000 (≈ USD 220) and IDR 2,400,000 (≈ USD 147).
What is not on Lamborajo 1?
Its brochure does not list a balcony, a jacuzzi, a bathtub, a canoe, paddle boards, a bar or a TV. We say "not listed" because a brochure can leave things out, and we confirm in writing anything you need.
Who should pick another boat?
Guests who need a private bathroom in every cabin, couples who want a balcony or a jacuzzi, and anyone planning around a bar, a TV, a canoe or paddle boards.
Lamborajo 2
How many cabins and guests does Lamborajo 2 have?
8 cabins and up to 25 guests; the length is on request.
Which Lamborajo 2 cabin suits a family of four?
The Family Ocean View: main deck, a queen bed, 2 extra beds, a private bathroom and room for up to 4 guests.
How much is a Superior cabin on the open trip?
IDR 5,200,000 (≈ USD 319) per person for 3D2N, minimum 2 guests. The cabin has a queen bed and a single bed and takes up to 3.
What does a private charter of Lamborajo 2 cost for 16 guests?
IDR 97,000,000 (≈ USD 5,951) for the whole boat on 3D2N, or IDR 6,060,000 (≈ USD 372) per person.
Does Lamborajo 2 have a jacuzzi, a canoe and paddle boards?
Yes, all three. The jacuzzi is on deck and shared by the whole boat, and the canoe and paddle boards are on the equipment list with the snorkeling gear. No cabin on Lamborajo 2 has its own jacuzzi.
What does the Lamborajo 3 list print that Lamborajo 2's does not?
A jacuzzi in four cabins. Both boats print a private balcony in their Master cabins, and Lamborajo 2 prints a TV and a canoe that Lamborajo 3 does not.
Lamborajo 3
How many guests fit on Lamborajo 3?
Up to 22 guests, three fewer than Lamborajo 2, on a 38 m hull.
What cabins does Lamborajo 3 have?
4 Superior cabins on the lower deck, each with a queen bed for 1 or 2 guests. 2 Master Ocean cabins on the main deck, for up to 3. 2 Royal Master Ocean cabins on the upper deck, for up to 4.
How much is a Master Ocean cabin with a jacuzzi on the open trip?
IDR 9,700,000 (≈ USD 595) per person for 3D2N, minimum 2 guests; the Royal Master Ocean costs IDR 10,950,000 (≈ USD 672). Both have a jacuzzi and a private balcony.
What does a private charter of Lamborajo 3 cost for 12 guests?
IDR 121,000,000 (≈ USD 7,423) for the whole boat on 3D2N, or IDR 10,080,000 (≈ USD 618) per person at 12 guests. Because the band covers 1 to 12, a smaller party pays the same total. At 16 guests the total is IDR 130,000,000 (≈ USD 7,975), and at 20, IDR 140,000,000 (≈ USD 8,589).
Why is the Superior cabin on Lamborajo 3 priced above Lamborajo 2's?
It costs IDR 5,750,000 (≈ USD 353) against IDR 5,200,000 (≈ USD 319), for a queen bed with no extra bed. Nothing printed explains the gap beyond the boat it is on, and we do not invent a reason.
Who should pick another boat?
Groups above 22 guests, anyone who wants a TV or a canoe on board, and anyone who would rather keep the IDR 33,000,000 difference from Lamborajo 2.
On board
Are meals and drinks included?
Breakfast, lunch and dinner on all three boats, with mineral water, snacks, coffee and tea. No menu is promised beyond that; tell us about dietary needs when you book and the answer comes in writing.
Is there air conditioning?
Yes, all three brochures print air-conditioned cabins.
Which boat has a jacuzzi?
Lamborajo 2 has one on deck. Lamborajo 3 has a large jacuzzi on deck and one in each of its four Master and Royal Master cabins. Lamborajo 1 lists none.
Which boat has a canoe or paddle boards?
Lamborajo 2 lists both, Lamborajo 3 lists paddle boards only, and Lamborajo 1 lists neither.
What snorkeling equipment is provided?
Snorkeling equipment is on all three lists, but fins and sizes are not itemized, so ask for what you need and we confirm it in writing.
Is there Wi-Fi on board?
Each boat has local Wi-Fi, a hotspot running on the crew's mobile signal. It drops out between islands, the May 2026 brochures list no satellite internet, and video calls from the water are not something to count on.
Open-trip seats and dates
How much does a Lamborajo open trip cost per person?
Per person for 3D2N, by cabin: Lamborajo 1 from IDR 3,000,000 (≈ USD 184) to IDR 4,550,000 (≈ USD 279), Lamborajo 2 from IDR 5,200,000 (≈ USD 319) to IDR 7,450,000 (≈ USD 457), and Lamborajo 3 from IDR 5,750,000 (≈ USD 353) to IDR 10,950,000 (≈ USD 672). The seat includes the local guide and photo documentation; park tickets are separate.
Open trip or private charter: what is the difference?
An open trip sells cabins by the seat, includes the local guide and photo documentation, and leaves on Monday and Friday. A private charter sells the whole boat on dates agreed in writing and includes neither. Which costs less depends on the head count: on Lamborajo 1 the Share Cabin seat matches the whole-boat share at 15 guests, and a Master Ocean seat costs more than the boat share from 10.
Which days do open trips leave?
Mondays and Fridays, on all three boats; the next one is Friday, 6 November 2026.
What is the minimum for an open-trip cabin?
Two guests per cabin, except the Share Cabin on Lamborajo 1, which is sold by the bed from 1 guest.
Is the guide included on the open trip?
Yes, along with photo and video documentation shot on a drone, a mirrorless camera and a GoPro.
Where does the open trip meet and when does it end?
On Lamborajo 1 and 2 the card prints a 09:00 meeting at the airport or your hotel and a 10:00 sailing, with the return around midday on day 3. For Lamborajo 3 these details are confirmed in writing before you pay.
Park tickets, guide and photographs
Is the Komodo park fee included?
No, park tickets are never in a fare. A foreign visitor pays IDR 250,000 per person per day; a domestic visitor pays IDR 50,000, or IDR 75,000 at weekends.
Who pays the ranger, and how?
You do. Ranger and local levies are bundled with the government entrance ticket (IDR 250,000 per foreign visitor per day, PP 36/2024) in one KEXI park package per guest, paid on top of the boat price unless your quote says it is included. The park fees page has a calculator.
Is a guide included on a private charter?
No. A local guide is available on request and quoted separately, and so is photo and video documentation; the open trip includes both. If a guide at every stop matters, say so in your first message and the quote lists it as its own line.
Are photos or drone footage included?
On the open trip, yes: documentation with a drone, a mirrorless camera and a GoPro is included. On a private charter it is quoted separately on request.
Can I fly a drone?
Only with a park permit. Tell us before you travel and we confirm in writing what the permit requires and what it costs.
What costs extra on top of the fare?
Park tickets, ranger fees, flights to Labuan Bajo, the hotel, travel insurance, personal expenses and a gratuity. On a private charter, the local guide and photo documentation as well.
Paying, canceling, 2027 and the replacement guarantee
How much is the deposit and when is the balance due?
The deposit is 50% of the quote, and the balance is due 30 days before sailing.
What is the cancellation scale?
Cancel 60 days or more before sailing and 50% comes back; between 59 and 30 days, 25%; inside 30 days, nothing. If the boat itself cannot sail, the replacement guarantee applies instead of this scale.
What if the boat cannot sail?
If a breakdown, or an order from the harbor master or the park, stops the boat, we provide a phinisi of the same class or higher on the same dates at no extra cost. If you prefer, you get a full refund within 14 days.
Can I book 2027 dates now?
Yes. The 2027 calendar is open; rates are on request, and the current list applies until the 2027 list is issued.
Can a company receive an invoice?
Yes: PT Komodo Explorer Indonesia, NIB 1805260128363, invoices the company name you give us.
Can I move my date?
A change at least 30 days before sailing is free. Between 29 and 14 days before, it costs IDR 500,000. Inside 13 days it counts as a cancellation.
Can I pay the balance on the departure day?
Yes. The standard terms stay the same: a 50% deposit confirms the date and the balance is due 30 days before departure, but you may also pay the balance in Labuan Bajo on the departure day, in cash or by card on the EDC machine. Card payment link 3%, PayPal 7.2%, EDC 3%; your issuing bank may add its own charges.
Route, timing, months and arriving
How many days do I need for Padar and Pink Beach?
Three days and two nights cover both. On the private route they fall on day 2; on the open trip Padar is on day 1 and Pink Beach on day 2. The full-day and 2D1N routes also include both stops.
What are the best months to sail Komodo?
April to June and October to November bring calm seas and good visibility. July and August are the busiest and windiest. Mantas peak from December to February and July to September, and January and February have the roughest seas. All three boats sail the same water, so the month favors none of them.
What time is pickup, and where?
The pickup point (hotel, airport or harbor) is agreed in writing before you pay. The open trip meets at 09:00 and sails at 10:00; a private charter prints a 10:00 pickup and a 10:30 sailing, with the exact times agreed in writing.
Is airport transfer included?
Yes. Pickup and drop-off at the airport, your hotel or the harbor are in every fare, at a point agreed in writing. A HiAce or a larger coach for a group is an upgrade, quoted in writing before anything is added to the fare.
Which flights and hotel nights should I book?
Land the day before and sleep in Labuan Bajo, and book the flight home for after 14:00 on the last day, since the boat is back around midday.
Where does the boat spend the night?
Where the boat spends the night depends on the weather and the captain's decision that day.
Whole-boat charter cost
How much does it cost to charter a Lamborajo per person?
For a private 3D2N on the list updated 4 May 2026: at 12 guests, IDR 3,580,000 (≈ USD 220) on Lamborajo 1, IDR 7,330,000 (≈ USD 450) on Lamborajo 2 and IDR 10,080,000 (≈ USD 618) on Lamborajo 3. Eight guests pay the same, since the first band runs from 1 to 12. For 13 to 16 guests the totals rise to IDR 45,000,000 (≈ USD 2,761), IDR 97,000,000 (≈ USD 5,951) and IDR 130,000,000 (≈ USD 7,975).
What does Lamborajo 1 cost for 16 guests?
IDR 45,000,000 (≈ USD 2,761) for the whole boat on 3D2N, or IDR 2,810,000 (≈ USD 172) per person.
What happens to the price above 20 guests?
Each guest above 20 adds a fixed amount on a 3D2N: IDR 2,000,000 (≈ USD 123) on Lamborajo 1 up to 24 guests, IDR 3,000,000 (≈ USD 184) on Lamborajo 2 up to 25, and IDR 3,000,000 (≈ USD 184) on Lamborajo 3 up to 22. Above 25, the group needs two boats. The other durations have their own add-on rates.
Is a private charter priced per night or per boat?
Per boat, for the stated duration, in bands of 1 to 12, 13 to 16 and 17 to 20 guests, across four durations: full day, 2D1N, 3D2N and 4D3N. There is no season column, so a Friday in August costs the same as a Tuesday in November.
Is 2027 open for a private charter, and what price applies?
2027 dates are open. 2027 rates are on request: the price list in force applies until the 2027 list is issued, and if it changes before your balance is due, we tell you first and you can cancel without charge.
How much are the Komodo National Park fees with KEXI?
KEXI quotes the park as one package per guest: 3D2N: IDR 650,000 per foreign guest, IDR 350,000 per Indonesian guest; 4D3N: IDR 750,000 per foreign guest, IDR 350,000 per Indonesian guest. It bundles the government entrance ticket (IDR 250,000 per foreign visitor per day, PP 36/2024) with the ranger fee and local levies, and is paid on top of the boat price unless your quote says it is included.
