Kelor Island Hill Walk on a Lamborajo Phinisi
Updated 20 October 2026
Kelor is the first trek of a private 3D2N and the last stop of the open trip. It is a small hilly islet about an hour by boat from Labuan Bajo, with a climb of 15 to 30 minutes to a viewpoint over the bay.
Kelor: the first trek of the private route, the last stop of the open trip
A private 3D2N serves lunch aboard after the sail out and then calls at Kelor for the hill walk and a swim. The 2D1N route starts the same way. On the 4D3N, Kelor and Manjarite close the trip on day 4.
The open trip, printed for Lamborajo 1 and Lamborajo 2, ends here. Day 3 ends on Kelor, and the boat reaches Labuan Bajo around midday. For Lamborajo 3 the open-trip route is confirmed in writing, not printed.
The sail from Labuan Bajo takes 50 to 70 minutes. All three boats print the same 7 to 10 knots, so the boat you choose does not change that figure.

What it is not: short steep hill, not a long trek · not a dragon site · often the last stop of a trip, so do not expect to have energy left for much more
A short, steep climb at either end of the trip
The path is dry and steep, and a sturdy pair of shoes helps. The climb takes 15 to 30 minutes and ends at a viewpoint over the bay.
It is a short effort, not a trek. Padar is the long climb of the trip; Kelor sets the legs up for it on the private route and gives a last stretch on the open trip.
On the day, the ticket is the park's charge, not ours: IDR 250,000 for international visitors, and for Indonesian citizens IDR 50,000 on weekdays or IDR 75,000 at weekends and on holidays.

Snorkeling at Manjarite next door
Manjarite is printed as the snorkel that follows Kelor on private day 1. The sail between the two takes 30 to 60 minutes, and the card then carries on to Kalong for sunset.
Mask and snorkel come from the boat's list, which is the same on Lamborajo 1, 2 and 3. The private fare includes the equipment.
Manjarite has no page of its own. It shares this one because the two stops sit side by side on the day.
What Kelor does not offer
Kelor is a short steep hill, not a long trek. It is not a dragon site, and nobody should come for the wildlife.
It is also not a stop for the last of your energy. On a 3D2N the open trip puts it at the very end, and the legs that climbed Padar on day 1 and walked Komodo on day 2 feel it.
The private route is the kinder order: Kelor first, with fresh legs and the whole trip ahead. It also shows a group its own pace early, since whoever tires on 15 to 30 minutes of climb will tire on Padar.
FAQ
How long is the Kelor climb?
About 15 to 30 minutes up a dry, steep path to a viewpoint over the bay. Shoes with grip help.
Is Kelor the first or the last stop?
First on a private 3D2N, last on the open trip printed for Lamborajo 1 and Lamborajo 2. Lamborajo 3 is the exception: its open-trip route is confirmed in writing.
Is the Manjarite snorkel a separate stop?
Yes. The card prints Manjarite as a snorkel after Kelor on private day 1, and it shares this page because the two sit in one leg of the day.
Are there Komodo dragons on Kelor?
No. Kelor is a hill walk and a viewpoint. The dragon walk is the Komodo stop on day 2.
