Pink Beach Snorkeling on a Lamborajo Boat

Updated 20 October 2026

Pink Beach is the second morning stop of day 2 on a private 3D2N and the first stop of day 2 on the open trip. The reef sits close to shore, snorkeling equipment is on all three boats' lists, and the sand is pale pink, not bright pink.

Pink Beach: day 2, after Padar on both products

The cards print the stop as Pink Beach (Long Beach). On a private 3D2N it follows the Padar trek on day 2. On the open trip, printed for Lamborajo 1 and Lamborajo 2, Pink Beach opens day 2, with the Komodo trek next. For Lamborajo 3, the open-trip route is confirmed in writing.

The 2D1N and 4D3N routes and the one-day charter carry it as well, on day 2, day 3 and the single day respectively.

The three boats reach the beach in the same time, since all print 7 to 10 knots. A different cabin class does not move you any closer to the water.

Entry to the national park costs IDR 250,000 per international visitor per day. Indonesian citizens pay IDR 50,000 on weekdays and IDR 75,000 at weekends and public holidays, and none of it sits inside a Lamborajo fare.

Snorkeling here: gear on all three boats

Reef starts close to the sand, at depths of about 1 to 8 meters, with a mild current. The water holds a snorkeler for 45 to 90 minutes if the schedule allows.

Lamborajo 1, 2 and 3 each list snorkeling equipment, and the private fare includes it. The lists do not itemize fins or sizes. If fit matters, say so in your first message and the answer comes back in writing.

Water toys differ by boat. Lamborajo 2 lists a canoe and paddle boards, Lamborajo 3 lists paddle boards, and Lamborajo 1's list prints neither. The cards call this the snorkeling and paddle boarding stop.

Landing a full boat by tender

A phinisi anchors off the beach and the guests come ashore by tender. With 22 to 25 guests aboard, a full boat comes ashore in turns, so the first group swims or walks while the second waits.

That is a reason to travel light in the first minutes: a towel, not the whole bag. Reef-safe sunscreen goes on before the tender, not after.

The crew runs the tender and sets the order, and a small party lands sooner than a full boat.

What the sand is and is not

The pink tint comes from fragments of red coral mixed into the sand. Light and tide change the shade, and the sand reads as pale pink, never the saturated pink of a postcard.

Morning gives calmer water and softer light, which suits the position of the stop on day 2. A midday arrival on a different day gives the same beach in harder light.

The beach is not a bright pink postcard, and it is not a quiet corner in July and August, the months when the crowd is largest.

FAQ

Is snorkeling gear provided at Pink Beach?

Yes. Snorkeling equipment is on the printed list of Lamborajo 1, 2 and 3, and the private fare includes it. Sizes are confirmed in writing if you ask.

Why is it called Pink Beach and Long Beach?

Pink Beach is the common name, from red coral fragments in the sand. The owner's cards print it as Pink Beach (Long Beach), the name for the snorkeling and paddle boarding stop.

Which Lamborajo has paddle boards for Pink Beach?

Lamborajo 2 and Lamborajo 3 list paddle boards, and Lamborajo 2 adds a canoe. Lamborajo 1's list prints none.

When is Pink Beach quietest?

Outside July and August, the crowded months. Mornings give calmer water and softer light, and the stop sits on day 2 of both routes, so the month matters more than the boat.
